Telangana Tractor Subsidy 2026 — How to Apply (Complete Guide for Nizamabad Farmers)

Every year, the Telangana government makes funds available to help farmers buy tractors and farm equipment at reduced cost. But most farmers in Nizamabad district either do not know about these schemes or find the process confusing.

This guide explains exactly how to apply for the Telangana tractor subsidy in 2026, what documents you need, how much subsidy you can expect, and what to do if your application is rejected.

What is the Telangana Farm Mechanization Subsidy?

The Telangana government, through the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, runs a subsidy programme under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) — a central government scheme implemented at state level.

Under this scheme, eligible farmers can receive 25%–50% subsidy on the purchase price of tractors and power-operated farm equipment, subject to a maximum subsidy cap.

For 2026, the scheme continues under the Rythu Bharosa support framework.

How Much Subsidy Can You Get?

The subsidy amount depends on your farmer category:

Farmer CategorySubsidy PercentageMaximum Subsidy Cap
General farmers25%Up to ₹75,000
SC/ST farmers50%Up to ₹1,25,000
Women farmers40%Up to ₹1,00,000
Small & Marginal farmers (< 5 acres)35%Up to ₹90,000

Important: The subsidy is paid directly to the dealership (Prakash Motors in this case) and deducted from your invoice. You pay only the balance amount.

Who is Eligible?

To apply for the tractor subsidy in Nizamabad district, you must meet these conditions:

  1. You must be a farmer. Patta land in your name or your family’s name is required.
  2. The land must be in Telangana. Specifically, for Nizamabad district applications, your Pattadar Passbook must show land in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, or neighbouring districts.
  3. You must not have received a tractor subsidy in the last 7 years. The scheme allows one subsidised tractor per family per 7-year period.
  4. The tractor must be purchased from an authorised dealer. Buying from the used market or unauthorised sources does not qualify.
  5. HP range: Most subsidy schemes cover tractors from 20 HP to 75 HP. Very large tractors (80 HP+) typically do not qualify.

Documents Required for Tractor Subsidy Application

Prepare these documents before visiting the Agriculture Department or the dealership:

Land Documents:

  • Pattadar Passbook (Pahani)
  • Latest Adangal (land records — current year)
  • 1B Khata certificate if the land is joint family property

Identity Documents:

  • Aadhaar card (mandatory)
  • Caste certificate (for SC/ST subsidy category)
  • Bank passbook showing account linked to Aadhaar

Other Documents:

  • Passport-size photographs (4 copies)
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar (for OTP verification during online application)
  • Rythu Bandhu beneficiary status (helps confirm farmer identity in the system)

Step-by-Step: How to Apply for Tractor Subsidy in 2026

Step 1: Visit the District Agriculture Office in Nizamabad

The process begins at the District Agricultural Officer (DAO) office in Nizamabad. This is located near the collectorate complex. Bring all your documents (listed above).

At the DAO office:

  • Collect the subsidy application form (Form A under SMAM)
  • Submit your documents for initial verification
  • Get a reference number for your application

Office hours: Monday to Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM (closed 2nd Saturday and public holidays)

Step 2: Online Registration on Agrimachinery Portal

Your application must also be registered on the national portal: agrimachinery.nic.in

  • Go to agrimachinery.nic.in on your phone or computer
  • Click “Farmer Registration”
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and complete OTP verification
  • Fill in your land details and upload scanned copies of your documents
  • Select “Tractor” as the implement category
  • Select your district (Nizamabad) and dealership (Prakash Motors)
  • Submit and note your application reference number

If you are not comfortable with online registration, Prakash Motors will assist you with this step at our Nizamabad showroom at no charge.

Step 3: Lottery/Selection Process

Because subsidy funds are limited, the government uses a lottery system. Eligible applicants in Nizamabad district are entered into a draw. Selected farmers receive an SMS on their registered mobile number.

Tip: Apply as early in the financial year as possible (April–May). Funds are allocated state-wide and get exhausted quickly. Applying in the second half of the year (after October) often means waiting for the next year’s allocation.

Step 4: Purchase the Tractor Within the Deadline

Once selected, you have 30–45 days to complete the tractor purchase. The subsidy amount is electronically transferred to the dealership (Prakash Motors) and deducted from your invoice.

You pay only: Final Price = Ex-showroom price + on-road charges - subsidy amount

Step 5: Collect Your Tractor and Registration Documents

After payment, Prakash Motors handles the RTO registration, insurance, and delivery. You receive all documents within 15–20 working days.

Common Reasons Applications Get Rejected

  • Land is in a relative’s name but patta is not transferred — ensure Pattadar Passbook is in your name
  • Aadhaar is not linked to the bank account — fix this at your bank branch first
  • Applied after subsidy funds for the year are exhausted — apply in April–May
  • Selecting the wrong HP category on the online form — check with the DAO before submitting
  • Missing Adangal for the current year — get a fresh copy from the MRO office
